Dear E. F. Garment,
I must first apologize for this means of communication as I realize we are very much strangers. While it is indeed a long shot, I’m writing this letter in regards to a genealogic inquiry. I have been able to trace a segment of my maternal ancestors (surname Garment) back to the Hemel Hempstead region and was wondering if you have any knowledge into your own personal genealogy. I realize the chances are remote, but I seem to have exhausted all sources short of physically visiting the area (which is not in the foreseeable future unfortunately). If it is of any help, attached is the Hertfordshire segment of my family tree ending with my great-great-grandfather who immigrated to Canada in 1903. I would be eternally grateful for any pieces of information you may have on the matter and can be reached via mail or e-mail. If no information is available, I apologize greatly for any inconvenience. Your time is greatly appreciated in either scenario.
Sincerely,
Christopher Lauzon
I sent this to three people in England and they have no idea who I am! I wonder if I'll get a response back!?

| | thirsty | ] | So it's 4:30am and I've given up hope for sleep tonight.
I haven't had Pepsi/Coke since Friday and I'm going through withdrawal. I get a dry mouth and an unquenchable thirst. Caffeine alone doesn't help.
But I'm trying to quit the stuff.
I dunno how I'll long I'll honestly go.

| Lyric Fun! |
[Nov. 12th, 2008|04:36 pm] |

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle. Step 2: Post the first line from the first 22 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing. Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly. Step 4: For those who are guessing—looking the lyrics up on a search engine is CHEATING! Step 5: If you like the game post your own.
1. This is how it works, it feels a little worse.
2. I wanna hold em' like they do in Texas Plays
3. I want to live where *insert song title*
4. *Song title*, I can't forget the time or place where we just met.
5. I'm a *song title*, I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take.
6. How are things on the West Coast?
7. Hoping I can run today and get away faster
8. Jag känner en bott, hon heter Anna, Anna heter hon (English: I know a bot, her name is Anna, Anna is her name)
9. I don't mind you’re someone that ain't mine
10. Come on over, let me watch you
11. What's wrong with me?
12. *Song title*, I can see them when they scream at night
13. I close both locks below the window
14. Baby, there's something wrong with you maybe
15. He left no time to regret, kept his dick wet
16. Lay where you're laying, don't make a sound
17. I say he so sweet, make her wanna lick the wrapper
18. I've been waiting for a sign...
19. It's been so long since I have touched you
20. I never loved nobody fully
21. I don't get you, I can't forget what you've forgotten.
22. We are the crowd, we're c-coming out
Okay, so sometimes I added more than the first line, but I thought I should at least give the first complete thought for the clues...
And it's odd how some of the lyrics and songs lined up together.

| Let's Pound our Heads in Unison! |
[Nov. 9th, 2008|05:19 am] |
In political beliefs, I'm a liberal. So naturally I have a great yearning to eventually declare myself a Liberal (notice the capital). However, I just can't bring myself to do it yet.
The party is backwards. They just don't get it. Seriously - they don't. They're uninspiring, lethargic and unprincipled. For the upcoming leadership race they've doubled the registration fee - it's now $90,000. Good going Liberals! At a time when you need fresh faces and fresh ideas the most you're trying your best to stifle them!
There are many many reasons why the Liberals are stumbling. It becomes more clear that the party is at a crossroads when you look at their leadership history... there are definitely 'leadership eras'.
Post-Confederation (1867-1887) Leaders: George Brown (unofficial), Alexandre Mackenzie, Edward Blake For the first four years after Confederation, the Liberal Party was leaderless but unofficially accepted Brown as the man in charge. This era was still directly linked to pre-Confederation politics in the Canadian colonies. Mackenzie and Blake were both directly connected to Brown.
Laurier (1887-1919) Leaders: Wilfrid Laurier Laurier is a rather unique case. He was the first not to have any connections from colonial politics and he was certainly leader long to define an era of his own. He left no proteges.
Early to Mid-Twentieth Century (1919-1958) Leaders: Mackenzie King, Louis St. Laurent King was Liberal Leader (and Prime Minister) over the course of several decades. When he stepped down after WWII, he handpicked St. Laurent as his replacement.
Natural Governing Party (1959-2006) Leaders: Lester Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, John Turner, Jean Chretien, Paul Martin You could make an argument that Pearson should be in the former category as he did have a relationship with King, however it remained rather distant politically as Pearson did not enter politics until King's resignation. Under his watch in the early 1960's, he raised three protoges (Trudeau, Turner and Chretien) who would all become Prime Minister. Martin extended this era as a late comer due to his quarrel with Chretien during the 1990's. Considering past leadership patterns, it should have been Martin who paved the way for a new era of leaders. However, he was only Prime Minister for little more than two years - no where close to the time needed to sow the seeds of a new political compass.
Rebirth (2006-Present) Leaders: Stephan Dion, ??? Dion was suddenly thrown a large torch with no foundation on which to catch it. Naturally he stumbled (and fell). The Liberals currently have no past leader in which to rely or exemplify upon naturally. The 'Natural Governing Party Era' is over and they haven't produced a vision or person to instill a new one. Looking forward, the competitiveness of Michael Ignatieff and Bob Rae give birth to something new, although it's unknown how successful it will become. Justin Trudeau adds further intrigue - will he become apart of the Ignatieff/Rae vision or is he setting himself up to be a ground breaker beyond those years?
All in all, the Liberals need something new and the party officials aren't fostering it. Yes they are in desperate need of money, but the way to do it isn't to levy more donations from your existing members. Instead they should be broadening their general support among the public. Finance reform in the Canadian political system has placed a greater importance on donations from the grassroots. However the grassroots aren't the basis of the political system - the public is. By increasing public support you grow your grassroots which in turns grows your coffers. Stop forgetting about the fertilizer Liberals!!!
-Chris
